PEELING

A peel is a chemical process designed to erase skin imperfections by gently or moderately exfoliating the epidermis and dermis, depending on the type of peel used.

The aim of this aesthetic technique is to bring about cell renewal and improve the general appearance of the skin.

We offer two types of peel at the centre:

• Glycolic acid peels: a gentle peel that treats the epidermis (superficial layer of the skin). Skin texture is refined, pores tightened and pigmentation spots reduced. This gives the face a real radiance boost.
• Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels: a medium peel that treats the epidermis and dermis (superficial and middle layer of the skin). Ideal for reducing wrinkles, pigmentation spots and acne scars.

Whether it’s a glycolic acid peel or a trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel, the aim is to :

• Refine skin texture
• Smooth imperfections
• Reduce pigmentation spots
• Reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

Duration of procedure: approximately 1 hour

Technique:
Superficial or medium peels are carried out by our specialist assistants, under the supervision of the centre’s doctors.

Before the peel, it is essential to prepare your skin 15 days before the treatment with specific cosmetics that we will prescribe during our 1st consultation.

On the day of the session, we’ll start by taking your photo and making you comfortable.

We will remove your make-up thoroughly before applying the peel using a brush or a large cotton bud.

A sensation of intense heat or even a slight burn will occur when the product is applied. We will give you a small fan to reduce these unpleasant sensations. Several passes are necessary depending on the type of peel chosen. The application time does not exceed 10 minutes and can be adapted according to the patient’s tolerance.

A moisturising cream is then applied to soothe the skin for 8 days after the treatment.

From D0 to D+2, you may feel tightness and have a red face (like a sunburn). From D+2 to D+8 you may simply peel or peel off depending on the peel used.

Peels can be carried out from October to early April.
They cannot be carried out during the summer because of the UV rays.

2 to 4 sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart are necessary to obtain optimum results.
Photos will also be taken for a before-and-after comparison.

• Sun exposure 15 days before and throughout the protocol.
• Pregnancy
• Herpes (prophylactic treatment will be prescribed if necessary)
• Skin conditions: eczema, dermatitis, wounds, etc.
• High phototypes: V and VI (risk of hyper or depigmentation)

Before:

• Carry out the skin preparation prescribed at the information meeting.
• Sun exposure (sunscreen factor 50 +) and above all, do not expose yourself to the sun 15 days before and for the duration of the treatment protocol.

After the treatment:

• Carry out the skin repair phase using the repair cream.
  Do not expose to the sun.
• Apply sun protection factor 50+ several times a day.

NB: It may be necessary to avoid social activities for a few days. This depends on the type of peel and the sensitivity of the person receiving the treatment.
