what you need to know...
The vascular laser is used to treat visible superficial vessels and angiomas on the face and ruby spots on the face and body. This technique relies on the thermal energy emitted by the device (photo coagulation).
It is a non-invasive technique. This treatment is contraindicated for phototypes 4 to 6 (dark skins).
Thanks to the YAG laser wave, which targets the haemoglobin contained in the vessels, the laser produces photo coagulation. This makes it possible to reduce or even eliminate unsightly vessels on the face. It can also be used to treat red spots on the body (ruby spots) or small angiomas on the face.
Duration of treatment: the duration varies depending on the area to be treated, but generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes.
Technique: This technique requires a month’s absence of sun exposure before the session. After meticulous cleaning of the area and taking photos, the doctor and laserist assistant define the treatment parameters according to the indication and the patient’s skin type. At the same time as the laser is being applied, a cooling system is applied to the treated area to avoid discomfort.
After the session: The area may react with slight swelling and localised redness, which disappears in about 48 hours. A few scabs may appear, which will fall off of their own accord (do not scratch or exfoliate) with the repair cream.
It is advisable to apply a repair cream for 3 to 5 days to repair and moisturise the skin.
A 50+ sun cream is required for one month to prevent hyperpigmentation of the treated areas.
At the first information appointment with a specialist nurse, you will be given a personalised estimate. This appointment is used to determine the areas and the feasibility of the treatment. The doctor will approve the treatment either at the consultation appointment or during the session.
You must be very strict about sun exposure before and after each session, and apply a 50+ sun cream every day.
Results are visible from 15 days after the session. Depending on the extent and sensitivity of the skin, you may be offered 1 to 3 sessions spaced one month apart.
